Director of Grants Management

Salary Range:$65,000.00 To 85,000.00 Annually

This position secures grants and contracts funding for SPFC, including sourcing new funding and expanding on existing partnerships. Additionally, the person in this role leads the grants administration process, including the assurance of grants and contracts compliance, provides support for reporting, and coordinates people and processes to maximize outcomes achievement and secure ongoing funding.

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure goals for grants and contract revenue are met by leading the acquisition and administration of grant and contract funding
  • Lead strategic discussions regarding responses to grants and prospective funding opportunities based on knowledge of funder, community needs and trends, and SPFC plans and capabilities
  • Manage “grant preparation” strategies and communications for significant funding opportunities that require the input of staff across departments
  • Contribute to strategies for program/project evaluation and data management based on funder requirements, as well as best practices in moving programs/projects toward outcomes
  • Assemble all necessary materials for grant submission, including creating annual “grant toolboxes” with updated information, such as budgets, key personnel bios, and other collateral
  • Complete grant applications, working with Program Directors and other key staff for source content; refine all content so that it is responsive to each grant application; and ensure all application requirements are met in the timely submission of grants
  • Review all awarded grant and contract requirements and create and maintain systems whereby all key staff understand contractual obligations (including reporting, grant acknowledgement, administrative considerations like process for budget revisions, etc.)
  • Manage post-award process, including the execution of documents, assembly of key staff for post-award/grant kickoff meetings, completion of grant summary sheets, and communications of grant/contract requirements to key staff
  • Complete and/or support the completion of timely grant reporting in partnership with Program Directors, members of the finance department and other key staff
  • Maintain communications with funders, serving as a primary point of contact, keeping funders apprised both as necessary and as a courtesy for relationship development purposes; coordinate with contract managers and funder points of contact on systems, required documentation, reporting, and contract modifications.
  • Support internal controls by partnering with the finance department on providing grants and contracts documentation for audits and supporting billing for contracts as appropriate
  • Support compliance with funding contracts through effective communication and coordination with multiple internal departments and external partners
  • Establish and maintain relationships with family foundations; ensure family foundations receive regular communications regarding impact of their support; and ensure SPFC is responsive to opportunities and requirements regarding these funding streams
  • Research opportunities for new grants and contracts funding and make recommendations as to SPFC’s capability to respond to potential opportunities
  • Partner with the CEO, Communications, and Development teams in developing and updating content for internal and external SPFC communications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in English, Communications or a related fields
  • Minimum of five years of demonstrated success in the acquisition and administration of grants in a nonprofit setting

 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
